Ride your bike to school! Participate in “Wear It to Win It” Bike Helmet program this summer.

May is National Bike Month! In observance of National Bike to Work Day (May 17) and National Bike to Work Week (May 13-19), consider riding, rather than driving, to school! Students can practice bike safety and celebrate bicycling by:

Signing up for the co-curricular, Hauser Bike Club!

Participate in the Riverside Junior Women’s Charity “Wear it to Win it” program by wearing your bike helmet when you ride your bike around Riverside this summer! Students participate by placing a sticker on their bike helmets and than having it stamped at Riverside businesses where they ride their bikes while wearing their helmets. After collecting 10 stamps, students return the sticker to be entered into a drawing for prizes. Program information cards and helmet stickers are available in the Hauser Office for students who are interested in participating in this bike safety program.

The District 96 Facilities Committee is hosting a series of presentations on long-range facility plans. Members of the committee will be available to answer questions at all presentations. Hauser Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6th – 10th, 2019.

This year’s theme is:  “Thank You for Taking Care of our Little Monsters”.  Each day of the week will have a theme — Monday-Always WATCHING our ‘lil Monsters, Tuesday-Frightening Fruit Delight, Wednesday-Bagels and Scream Cheese, Thursday-Brainy Dips and Friday-Monster Ball Lucheon. In addition to treats throughout the week and a luncheon, we would also like to give the staff some gifts throughout the day on Friday.  There are many ways to support this event.  Please see the sign-up below for food/drink donations  and monetary donations.   Any money received will be put toward the luncheon and/or teacher gifts.  Any questions, contact Lisa Swicions at lisa.swicionis@gmail.com or 708-404-9312 or Joan Kanatas at joankanatas@yahoo.com or 708-819-0283.

At the April 16th PTO Meeting the following budget amendment will be voted on:

The Food Drive line item will increase by $1,800.  This addition will pay for Feed Our Community Day expenses and the monthly food donations to the Riverside Food Pantry. The additional funds will come from the current budget surplus.
