8th Grade Graduation photos Thursday, January 23rd

8th graders will take graduation pictures on Thursday, January 23rd through their science classes. Picture proofs and ordering information will be available a few weeks after the photo session.

NOTE: NO money or orders are due at this time.

ATTIRE – Students will take pictures in both a graduation gown (no caps) AND in their dress attire. Gowns are provided for students. A collared shirt with a tie, a blouse with dress pants or a skirt, or casual dress would all be appropriate. Please note that the dress code is still applicable. Students will have the opportunity to change from their formal clothes, if they choose, after pictures are completed.



Parent Workshop – “Keeping our Kids Safe in a Digital World” on January 29th

Please join District 96 on Wednesday, January 29 at 6:30pm for a parent workshop “Keeping our Kids Safe in a Digital World”.

Supervisory Special Agent Smith and Special Agent Hulliberger of the Crimes Against Children/Human Trafficking task force will deliver a short presentation on how parents can keep their children safe in our digital world as well as answer any questions you may have.

*NOTE : Due to the different topics being discussed during the presentation, we are requesting that children do not attend. Thanks to our PTO and PTAs, child care will be provided for children ages 3 and up.

CONTEST RULES – One entry per person

  • Story must be an original work of fiction
  • Contain one character that LAUGHS and one character that CRIES
  • Be appropriate for a middle school audience
  • 1,000 typed words or less

Submitting your entry

  • DEADLINE – Monday, February 3, 2020 at 10:00pm
  • All entries must be submitted by email to writingcontest@district96.org
  • Please include your FIRST and LAST name with submission.
  • BOLD parts with character laughing and character crying.
