Tomorrow night, Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, District 96’s music teachers will host their annual recital to benefit the Leonard Babb and Bruce Perryman Scholarships. This year’s recital, INSPIRATION, will be at 7 p.m., in the Hauser Auditorium. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.

The Hauser PTO is seeking donations of water and bakery items for the reception that will follow the concert. If you have items to donate, please leave them in the Hauser office on Wednesday, marked to the attention of Kathy Barcal. Kathy is also recruiting volunteers to assist with set up. Keeping Time with Music is the theme of this year’s faculty musical recital, to be held at 7:00 tonight in the Hauser Auditorium. Come and enjoy the talents of the District 96 music faculty. A free-will offering goes to support scholarships given to Hauser students through the Leonard Babb and Bruce Perryman scholarship funds.

The annual Hauser Performing Arts Concert will be held at 7:00 tonight at the Hauser Jr. High Auditorium. Among those performing will be the solo contest winners in orchestra, band, piano, and voice, as well as other Hauser musical groups, and others who auditioned to perform. Please support our students and the Hauser music program with your attendance at tonight’s concert.

All Hauser piano students who take private piano lessons are eligible to enter the piano solo contest on January 26 at Hauser. Please see Mrs. Gill for an entry form, or download from her website under “newsletters”. Entry forms are due Friday, January 15, and require a piano teacher’s signature. Students play a solo by memory for a judge and receive constructive comments about their performance.

Everyone is invited to the 5th and 6th grade band, orchestra and choir concert on Wednesday, December 2, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hauser auditorium.

The following Wednesday, December 9, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hauser auditorium is the 7th and 8th grade band, orchestra and choir concert.

The Hauser Orchestra will combine with the RB Orchestra for the Festival Concert on Thursday, October 8, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hauser auditorium. Everyone is invited to attend! The program theme is “Heroes.” Pieces include Spartacus, The William Tell Overture and The Magnificent Seven.

Hauser PTA is seeking volunteers to help with set-up, clean-up and to bring fruit and/or cookies for the faculty music recital on Wednesday September 16. If you are available to help please contact Kim Michl.

Update to District Calendar: The last Little Symphony concert of the year will Thursday, April 22, 2010, with Anima: Young Singers of Greater Chicago. Performances will be at 1:00 pm (grades 2-5 ) and 2:00 pm (grades 5-8) at Hauser.
