The Canned Food Drive concluded on Friday. What a huge success! After purchasing all the food, we collected a total of 29,100 cans. In the battle of the grades, the 8th grade is the winner with a total of 9,218 cans followed by the 6th grade with 9,147 cans and then the 7th grade with 8,352. The generosity of the Hauser community is very heart warming. The Salvation Army Red Shield Center located in Englewood and the Riverside Food Pantry will be very grateful. The winning class gets one hour at Hauser night with only their class to enjoy all the fun activities. Look for more details in the coming weeks. Many thanks to the hard working Canned Food Drive Committee on a job well done.

The Hauser Canned Food Drive is in full swing!  As of today, we have collected a total 1,615 cans toward our 35,000 can goal.  In the battle of the grades, 8th grade is in the lead with 902 cans, followed by 7th grade with 289 and then 6th grade with 158.   Encourage your children to ask neighbors, relatives and friends for can or monetary donations to help us reach our goal.  All donations will benefit the Riverside Township Food Pantry and the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Center Food Pantry located in the Chicago community of Englewood.

This week, we will be collecting cans at school on both Wednesday and Friday mornings from 7:30am-8:00am. Friday will be the first of four incentive days.  If your child brings in 20 cans or a $15.00 donation, they will receive a bag of caramels donated from Chocolate Twist.  If you have a small load, drop off at the tables located outside the auditorium.  If you have a big load, drive through the band drop off lane in the back parking lot and drop them at the pod.

If you would like to make a monetary donation, you can do so online by clicking on this link:  www.cheddarup.com/tabs/hauser-canned-food-drive.   Have your child send the link to family and friends who might like to help.
