PTO E-Meeting – Invitation to respond to report by Tuesday, May 12.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions and school closure, our last PTO meeting of the year scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, will be an e-meeting.

Also, because we will not be able to conduct an in-person vote on our final philanthropy grants of the year, the Philanthropy Committee’s recommendations are below. If you have any questions, concerns or comments about the below recommendations, please contact Lisa Hennelly at lisahennelly@ymail.com BEFORE Tuesday, May 12th. If there are no objections prior to May 12th at 7:00pm, we will assume that the recommendations have been approved.

Philanthropy Committee Recommendations

  1. The Philanthropy Committee recommends granting the full request of Ms. Faletti for two whiteboard tables to be used in her classroom. The general membership voted to approve this grant not to exceed $340 at the February PTO meeting but by the time the grant was approved, the tables increased in cost. We were unable to ask for an amendment at the March meeting due to the school closure. The tables are now $360 each and the committee’s recommendation is to approve the purchase of the two tables requested and increase the amount of the grant from $340 to $720.
  2. The Philanthropy Committee recommends granting the full request of Ms. Janik for two additional alternative seating chairs. The general membership voted to approve this grant for two of the four chairs requested at the October PTO meeting but limited the amount to $260 for two chairs in case of additional requests by other staff during the year. The grant of the remaining two chairs was postponed until the end of the school year and contingent upon funds remaining in the philanthropy fund. Now at the end of the school year, the Committee has received no additional grants and recommends filling Ms. Janik’s request in full so she can purchase the other two chairs in the amount of $150.
